Ulysse Nardin - Super Freak - 2026
The Super Freak debuts at Watches and Wonders 2026 as the pinnacle of Ulysse Nardin's Freak collection, marking 180 years of the Maison and twenty-five years since the original Freak redefined contemporary watchmaking. Produced as a limited edition of fifty pieces worldwide, the Super Freak consolidates thirty-five patented inventions drawn from a quarter-century of Freak development.
The 44mm case is crafted from 18ct white gold, measuring 16.54mm in thickness and weighing 152.3 grams. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal reveals the entirety of the movement from above, whilst a rotating bezel — released by a lever at six o'clock — is turned forwards or backwards to set the time. Water resistance is rated to 30m.
The watch presents no conventional dial. The architecture of the calibre is exposed against a translucent blue sapphire chapter ring, with Arabic numerals at twelve, three, six and nine. A skeletonised arrow at the centre indicates the hour via a rotating disc, whilst the elongated baguette movement itself serves as the minute hand, completing one rotation every sixty minutes. Seconds are read on a rotating cylinder at the end of the baguette.
Calibre UN-252 is the most complex time-only movement Ulysse Nardin has produced. Self-winding via the patented Grinder system — twice as efficient as conventional rotors — it drives the world's first automatic double flying tourbillon, with twin silicon balances, twin silicon hairsprings and two escapements inclined at ten degrees. Power reserve runs to seventy-two hours at a combined frequency of 2 x 2.5 Hz. The movement integrates eight patents, including the world's smallest gimbal system and the world's smallest vertical differential, across 511 components — the product of sixty hours of assembly by a single Grandes Complications watchmaker, with over seventy percent of the movement hand-finished.
The watch is presented on a grey textile strap fastened by an 18ct white gold pin buckle.
Unworn condition means never worn — expect factory-fresh condition with protective stickers potentially intact, no wear whatsoever. Supplied with original box and papers, and covered by the full Ulysse Nardin manufacturer's warranty.
The Super Freak is a time-only wristwatch whose mechanism is the display — an expression of haute horlogerie that leaves nothing hidden.
